About Meesh Hammer-Kossoy

Meesh is the Rosh Beit Midrash at Pardes, where she has been making her professional home since 1999. She teaches Talmud and Rabbinics, Social Justice and Ethics. Originally from Washington, D.C., Meesh has a B.A. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University, and a M.A. and Ph.D. from New York University. In 2015, Meesh completed her studies at Beit Midrash Har’el and received Orthodox ordination from Rabbi Herzl Hefter and Rabbi Daniel Sperber. Despite having written about criminal punishment in the Talmudic period, Meesh is known by her husband and children as a lover of mercy and kindness.
