Rabbi Yitzchak the son of Maryon says: “the scripture comes to teach us that if a person is going to do a mitzvah, let it be done with their whole heart… had Boaz known the Holy One, blessed be, would record of him that he fed Ruth parched corn – he would have fed her with fattened calves”.

Ouch.
