Tzedakah as a Response to the Climate Crisis (50 mins)

April 14, 2024 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

About Session

This session, based on a paper released at COP28’s Faith Pavilion by Duke University and the Muslim World League, will explore the intersection of the Jewish values of Tzedakah and our responsibility towards our shared global environment. Many of the key sources for Tzedakah are tied to our interactions with the environment. Some of those will be examined and then expanded out to our present day challenges of the Climate Crisis. Included will be examples put into action by the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies.
