Limmud North America is delighted to announce the launch of a new initiative core to its efforts to strengthen communities through programs that elevate Jewish learning.

Piloted in Los Angeles this spring, the Limmud Leadership Accelerator is an opportunity for dynamic individuals to be trained in Jewish ideas, community organizing, and Limmud’s unique methodology of combining the two in order to animate and build bridges within the Jewish community. With the ongoing support and mentorship of Limmud educators, fellows will spend a year studying together and being equipped with the skills necessary to convene their peers in programs that elevate curiosity, build bridges, and strengthen community.

Twelve fellows will be accepted into the Accelerator, divided among teams based in regional hubs across Los Angeles. There is no cost of participation to fellows, thanks to the generosity of The Diane and Guilford Glazer Foundation and other supporters.

“The Jewish community’s capacity to thrive is predicated upon individuals feeling empowered to design and lead experiences that authentically speak to their unique needs,” says Rabbi Singer, Limmud North America Executive Director. “Limmud’s model of user-centric programs and leadership development will be the key vehicles for bold new opportunities that guide the Los Angeles Jewish community moving forward, connecting Jews of diverse backgrounds with Jewish ideas and each other. We are delighted to bring the Limmud Leadership Accelerator to Los Angeles and, through this work, launch a greater investment in strengthening the bonds of Southern California’s Jewish community.”

Limmud North America is dedicated to animating Jewish community through experiences that connect Jews of all backgrounds with transformative learning and each other, based on a core belief in empowering individuals to personally build a vibrant future for the Jewish People. Through programs such as Festivals of Jewish Learning held virtuall and in cities across the continent, as well as the Global Day of Jewish Learning, Limmud grounds community-building in the timeless, transcendent Jewish act of study.

Applications for limited spots in the Accelerator are being accepted now through May 27, 2022 and are available at limmudna.org/accelerator. Please direct any questions to Limmud North America Director of Communities Ben Greenberg.
